Hump Nose

Hump Nose Surgery

This surgery corrects a hump nose, in which the nasal bone protrudes, and can improve a harsh, stubborn-looking impression. After accurately assessing the look the patient wants and the anatomical structure of the nose, surgery tailored to facial harmony can create a smooth nasal bridge line.

Hump nose surgery is not simply a matter of removing the protruding hump. Only when the condition of the nasal cartilage and tissue and the harmony of the whole face are fully considered can the result reflect the patient's face and preferences.

Surgical Method

Depending on its severity, the hump is rasped down or cut away to smooth the line. When the bridge is wide, the nasal dorsum, left widened by the hump removal, is fractured and brought inward.

When the hump is not severe

When the hump is small, it is rasped down. The protruding part is rasped away to leave a smooth line.

Nose Surgery Materials

Before surgery, the patient's skin condition and anatomical structure are accurately assessed, and the surgery is performed with materials suited to the individual.
Rather than simply raising or lengthening the nose, we create the ideal nose line based on a one-on-one consultation and accurate diagnosis, considering individual features such as the length of the face and the angle between the columella and the philtrum. ELITE PLASTIC SURGERY

Hump Nose Surgery Q&A

ELITE Special
  • Can hump nose surgery naturally refine my profile?
Hump nose surgery smooths the protruding bone and cartilage of the nasal dorsum to create a clean line, making your profile softer and more harmonious. Rather than simply removing the hump, it is important to design the result so that the tip and bridge are balanced and the whole face is in harmony.
  • Is there a chance the hump will protrude again over time after surgery?
There may be slight changes as the tissue settles after surgery, but with a normal recovery the hump does not protrude again. However, if the cartilage or bone is not trimmed sufficiently during surgery, or is not secured properly, it may partly return over time. Preventing this requires precise correction by an experienced medical team.
  • Is there a chance the tip will droop after hump nose surgery?
After hump nose surgery, the structure of the nose changes and the tip can look relatively low. To prevent this, the cartilage that supports the tip can be reinforced during surgery, or the tip can be raised slightly if needed. The surgery must therefore take the balance with the tip into account rather than simply removing the hump.
