Post-Surgery Instructions: Facelift
Elite Plastic Surgery: 032-424-1221
Positioning
For 1 week after surgery, sleep on your back with your head elevated above your heart.
Bending your head forward or straining your face hard can rupture blood vessels and cause bleeding, so please be careful.
(If a drain is in place) Your movement will be limited, so do not strain to get up; sleeping with your upper body raised about 15 degrees is more comfortable and helps reduce swelling.
Face Washing / Makeup
A light shower (excluding the face) is possible from the day of surgery; face washing and makeup are possible from the day after stitch removal.
When washing your face, wash gently so as not to irritate the surgical area.
Swelling
Bruising and swelling appear 2–3 days after surgery, continue for 1–2 weeks, and then gradually subside.
Swelling and bruising may differ between the two sides, which can cause some left-right asymmetry, but this improves over time.
Symptoms / Sensation
Asymmetry, unevenness, a sunken feeling, stiffness, and a pulling sensation are natural parts of the recovery process and gradually improve over time.
As sensation returns, you may feel tingling or sharp, prickling pain, but this naturally improves after about 6 months.
Healing of the incision lines varies by individual, but they gradually fade after 3–6 months.
Avoid stimulating, spicy, salty, and hot foods for about 1 week after surgery.
Care
Drains are removed 1–3 days after surgery.
Keep wearing the facial compression band until day 9 and the neck band until 1 month; for the first month, we recommend wearing them continuously in daily life except when going out.
To reduce swelling after surgery, apply cold compresses consistently over gauze or a cotton pad; warm compresses are strictly prohibited.
Medications
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
Be sure to take the medication prescribed by our clinic; skipping doses can lead to infection.
After Endoscopic Endotine / Forehead Lift / Forehead Reduction Surgery
Stitches are usually removed on day 7.
Before your visit for stitch removal, it is best to shampoo your tangled hair backward, as if in a shower, without bending your head forward.
After shampooing, dry your hair *completely* and put on your headband before coming to the clinic.
Swelling
Swelling and bruising vary by individual and differ between the two sides.
As a result, there may be some left-right asymmetry relative to the center of the face, but this improves over time.
Since the result settles as swelling subsides around 1 month after surgery, the outer corners of the eyes may look noticeably lifted immediately after surgery.
Symptoms / Sensation
Asymmetry, unevenness, stiffness, and a pulling sensation are natural parts of the recovery process and gradually improve over time.
As sensation returns, you may feel tingling or sharp, prickling pain, but this naturally improves after about 6 months.
Healing of the incision lines varies by individual, and in some cases hair loss may occur along the incision, but this gradually improves after 3–6 months.
Care
The drain is removed together with the facial bandage on day 1–2 and replaced with a regular headband.
Keep wearing the headband until day 7.

When sleeping, prop up your back with two or three cushions, blankets, or pillows.
From 2 weeks after surgery, you may sleep on your side if you have no pain.

The drain can be removed 2–3 days after surgery, after a check by the doctor.
Breast sutures are removed on day 7 after surgery.
Showering
Immediately after surgery, you may take a light shower as long as the incision sites do not get wet.
Shower: the incision sites may come into contact with water from 7 days after surgery.
Bathing: soaking the incision sites in water, such as in a bath, is possible from 4 weeks after surgery.
When washing your hair, it is best to have a companion help you, as at a hair salon, and to use your arms as little as possible.
Symptoms / Care
(If a drain is in place) Your arm movement will be limited, so do not strain to get up; sleeping with your upper body raised about 15 degrees is more comfortable and helps reduce swelling.
Incision scars gradually fade in color as they heal. The speed of recovery varies by individual, but they usually improve gradually within 6 months of surgery.
From 1 week after stitch removal, apply scar tape or scar ointment consistently for several months.
A feeling of tightness or pulling in the chest is part of the recovery process, so there is no need to worry.
Pain on only one side is a normal reaction, and sharp, tingling nipple pain is also common and part of the recovery process.
Undergarments
Wear the custom-made compression garment until 3 months after surgery.
Underwire bras can be worn from 3 months after surgery.
Medications
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so please resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
Be sure to take the medication prescribed by our clinic; skipping doses can lead to infection.
Alcohol / Smoking / Exercise / Sauna
No smoking or alcohol for 4 weeks after surgery, and avoid strenuous exercise and stress.
Sauna, massage, jjimjilbang (Korean spa), swimming, aerobics, and strenuous exercise such as working out at the gym are possible from 1 month after surgery.

Positioning
For 1 week after surgery, sleep on your back with your head elevated above your heart, and be careful not to rub your eyes.
After surgery, bruising and swelling subside from top to bottom as you recover. We recommend applying ice packs while sitting up (for 3 days) and taking light walks.
Face Washing / Makeup
If you have stitches: light foam cleansing and skin makeup are possible from the day after stitch removal.
If you have no stitches: face washing and skin makeup are possible from the day after surgery.
Non-incisional ptosis correction: face washing and skin makeup are possible from 2 days after surgery.
Hair washing and showering are possible immediately after surgery, but be careful not to bend your head forward, which raises pressure in the face, and do not let water touch the surgical area.
Contact lenses and heavy eye makeup are possible from 1 month after surgery.
Symptoms / Care
Swelling varies greatly by individual and may be most severe 3–4 days after surgery.
For 3 days after surgery, applying cold compresses to the eye area over gauze or a cotton pad helps reduce bleeding and swelling.
Immediately after surgery, blood may collect at or seep from the surgical site. If it is seeping, press on it with gauze or a cotton pad to stop the bleeding.
Depending on the surgery, conjunctival swelling, dryness, and itching may occur; even if uncomfortable, do not touch the area with your hands and use artificial tears.
Avoid anything that irritates the eyes, and be careful not to rub your eyes for about 3 months, as the wound could open.
Incision scars gradually fade in color as they heal. The speed of recovery varies by individual, but they usually improve gradually within 6 months of surgery.
Medications
The eye ointment or eye drops prescribed at discharge are given according to the surgical site, so use only those that apply to you, as directed.
Antibiotic eye ointment: twice a day, squeeze a small amount onto a cotton swab and apply to the incision line (stitch area).
Tarivid (antibiotic eye drops): shake before use and apply 3 times a day for 1 week only.
Alepatadine eye drops: 1–2 drops at a time, 3 times a day for 1 week only.
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
If you experience dryness or a foreign-body sensation, using artificial tear eye drops about 4–5 times a day helps. (Available at pharmacies without a prescription)
Post-Surgery Instructions: Rhinoplasty
Elite Plastic Surgery: 032-424-1221
Positioning
For 1 week after surgery, sleep on your back with your head elevated above your heart.
Be careful not to put pressure on the ear cartilage donor site while sleeping.
After surgery, bruising and swelling subside from top to bottom as you recover. We recommend applying cold compresses while sitting up (avoiding the nose) and taking light walks.
Swelling
Swelling varies greatly by individual. It generally takes about 2 weeks for swelling and bruising to go down.
Breathing may be uncomfortable after surgery, but irritating or rubbing the nose can cause bleeding or injury, so please be careful.
Asymmetric swelling, differences in nostril shape, and an upturned-looking tip improve over time and take about 6 months to settle.
Symptoms / Care
Clear, blood-tinged fluid may drain for about 3–4 days after surgery; simply wipe it away gently with a tissue.
For 3 days after surgery, apply cold compresses over gauze or a cotton pad around the nose, avoiding the nose itself. (Be careful not to apply direct pressure to the nose.)
Gently blowing your nose and wearing glasses or sunglasses are possible from 1 month after surgery.
Treatment / Scars
Nasal packing is removed 3 days after surgery.
Tape and the splint are removed 7 days after surgery.
Sutures inside the nose: absorbable, and dissolve around 1 month after surgery.
Sutures at the incision under the nose: removed on day 7 after surgery.
Face Washing / Makeup
After surgery, gently wipe your face with wet wipes or cleansing wipes, avoiding the taped areas.
Hair washing and showering are possible immediately after surgery, but be careful not to bend your head forward, which raises pressure in the face, and do not let water touch the surgical area.
Light face washing and skin makeup are possible from the day after the stitches, splint, and tape are removed.
We recommend using nose strips or scrubs, which irritate the nose, only from 1 month after surgery.
Medications
Apply the Esroban ointment prescribed at discharge to the incisions inside and under the nose 3 times a day for 2 weeks.
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so please resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
Be sure to take the medication prescribed by our clinic; skipping doses can lead to infection.
Alcohol / Smoking / Exercise / Sauna
No smoking or alcohol for 4 weeks after surgery, and please avoid strenuous exercise and stress.
Sauna, massage, jjimjilbang (Korean spa), swimming, aerobics, and strenuous exercise such as working out at the gym are possible from 1 month after surgery.
Post-Surgery Instructions: Fat Grafting
Elite Plastic Surgery: 032-424-1221
Positioning
After surgery, bruising and swelling subside from top to bottom as you recover.
For 1 week after surgery, sleep on your back with your head elevated above your heart, and be careful not to put pressure on the grafted areas.
Face Washing / Makeup
Makeup is possible from 1 day after surgery; be careful not to put pressure on the grafted areas for 1 month.
Dry the wound areas so that no moisture remains
If stitches remain at the fat harvest site, wipe away any moisture and dry the area first
Volume
It takes about 1 month for the swelling to go down and the grafted fat to take.
Early unevenness and asymmetry are due to differences in swelling and ease as you recover, so there is no need to worry.
If a second fat grafting is needed, it is performed within 1–2 months after the first fat grafting.
Symptoms / Care
Except in special circumstances, cold and warm compresses are not needed.
To improve the survival rate of the grafted fat, do not apply pressure or massage.
[Grafted areas]: Do not remove the regenerative tape (DuoDERM) on your own.
[Fat harvest site]: Stitches are removed after 7 days.
The fat harvest site (thigh or abdomen) turns red by about 1–2 mm; this lasts about 3–6 months and then gradually returns to normal skin color.
To help the fat take, it is best to avoid dieting for about 2 months after surgery.
Medications
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
Be sure to take the medication prescribed by our clinic; skipping doses can lead to infection.
Post-Surgery Instructions: Liposuction
Elite Plastic Surgery: 032-424-1221
Positioning
Swelling and bruising may differ between the two sides and improve over time.
Swelling varies by individual; major swelling goes down over 1–2 weeks, and minor swelling continues to subside over 3–6 months.
After surgery, bruising and swelling subside from top to bottom as you recover, so the area below the surgical site may swell slightly for a time; this is normal, so there is no need to worry.
Keeping the surgical area above the level of your heart helps relieve swelling, so for the thighs, keeping your legs slightly elevated helps minimize swelling
Face Washing / Showering
Showering is possible after the bandages are removed
When showering, cover the incision sites with waterproof tape so they do not get wet.
Symptoms / Care
Liposuction fluid may leak from the treated areas; when lying down, enough can come out to soak the bedding.
Depending on the treated area, a weight gain of 1–4 kg is normal, and you will return to your pre-surgery weight around week 2
Care for the surgical area with body oil or lotion so it does not become itchy or dry.
Tightness and a constricting feeling in the skin after surgery are due to the fibrosis process inside the liposuctioned area; this is most pronounced around 1 month and gradually improves.
Diet
Since you cannot exercise right after surgery, diet control is most important for a certain period after liposuction.
A low-sodium diet is recommended to relieve swelling and control calories.
Drink water in small amounts frequently, about 2 liters a day.
Compression Garment
Wear the compression garment continuously from 2–3 days after surgery; it must be worn for 3 months.
The compression garment helps reduce swelling and pain and speeds up contouring.
Medications
Aspirin and anticoagulants can cause bleeding, so resume them only from 3 days after surgery.
Be sure to take the medication prescribed by our clinic; skipping doses can lead to infection.

Elite Plastic Surgery: 032-424-1221

After surgery, bruising and swelling move downward and subside as you recover. We recommend applying ice packs while sitting up (for 3 days) and taking light walks.
Face Washing / Makeup
Hair washing and showering are possible immediately after surgery, but be careful not to bend your head forward, which raises pressure in the face
Face washing and makeup are possible from 2 days after surgery.
Brushing / Gargling
[For jowl (buccal) fat removal] Gargle frequently with the mouthwash provided by our clinic, about 5 times a day including after meals
Pour 10 ml into the cap, gargle and hold it in your mouth for about 1 minute, then spit it out and rinse with water. (Do not gargle forcefully.)
Brushing your teeth is possible immediately after surgery, but brush gently and avoid the wounds
Symptoms / Care
Swelling varies greatly by individual and may be most severe 3–4 days after surgery.
Touching or bumping the surgical area forcefully can change its shape or, if there are stitches inside the mouth, open the wound, so be careful for 1 month.
We recommend wearing the facial compression band purchased from our clinic continuously for 1 month.
The compression tape applied immediately after surgery to prevent bleeding and swelling is removed on day 2 after surgery.
Blood-tinged fluid may drain from the surgical site, but this is a normal reaction, so there is no need to worry.
[For jowl (buccal) fat removal] Absorbable sutures are used, so you do not need to visit the clinic for stitch removal.
Diet
For 2–3 days after surgery, a liquid diet without solid pieces is recommended.
[For jowl (buccal) fat removal] For 7 days after surgery, eat foods that will not irritate the incision inside the mouth, and gargle thoroughly so that food does not get stuck.
In some cases, stitches may be removed 3 days to 1 week after V-line surgery.

3. Swelling, bruising, a lumpy feeling, warmth, or itching may occur after the procedure but subsides within a few days.
4. It is best to avoid alcohol, smoking, sauna, and jjimjilbang (Korean spa) for at least 3–7 days after the procedure.
5. Ice compresses after the procedure help relieve swelling; the face slimming injection may cause temporary flushing or menstrual irregularity, but this returns to normal.
6. If severe swelling, warmth, or pain at the treated area persists, contact our clinic and then come in for a visit.
1. After the procedure, the broken-down pigment rises to the surface and may temporarily look darker, but it gradually breaks down, is absorbed, and disappears over 3–6 months.
2. Temporary redness may occur after the procedure, but it subsides after 2–3 hours, so there is no need for concern.
3. Showering, exercise, and light makeup are possible, but avoid sauna, jjimjilbang (Korean spa), heavy drinking, and scrubs for 2–3 days.
4. To calm the skin, use moisturizer and regenerating cream and drink plenty of water; sunscreen is essential when going outside.
5. Scabs may form after the procedure; if so, be careful not to pick them off prematurely.
6. Due to the nature of pigment lasers, we recommend 10 or more repeated treatments.
7. As pigment cells are destroyed after the procedure, a temporary allergic reaction may occur. This can be treated with medication; if a severe allergic reaction or blisters occur, contact our clinic.
1. All ointments should be applied 2–3 times a day.
1. Keep the prescribed ointment refrigerated and use it for 7–10 days starting on the day of the procedure, then stop. (※ If scabs form, continue using the prescribed ointment until the scabs fall off)
2. Regenerating cream or moisturizer – use after stopping the prescribed ointment, until your next treatment
2. Because the broken-down tattoo pigment needs time to be absorbed, there may be no change, or it may even look darker, for about 4–6 weeks right after the laser; this is a natural process, and it fades with each session.
3. For eyeliner and eyebrow tattoo removal, showering, exercise, and skin makeup are possible, but avoid sauna, jjimjilbang (Korean spa), heavy drinking, scrubs, and eyebrow & eyeliner makeup for 7 days.

7. Avoid getting the treated area wet on the day of the procedure; a light shower is possible from the next day.
8. Avoid sauna, jjimjilbang (Korean spa), swimming, heavy drinking, and exercise that causes heavy sweating for 1–2 weeks.
9. While the treated area is oozing after the procedure, keep it away from water and avoid all physical irritation. Take the prescribed medication and keep the ointment or DuoDERM properly applied.
10. If a blister forms, do not pop it; come to the clinic right away. (If you cannot come in, have it disinfected at a nearby clinic or disinfect it yourself.) If the blister is about the size of a cotton swab head, do not pop it; just keep applying the ointment.
[ How to self-disinfect a blister 1 cm or larger ]
① Buy rubbing alcohol, sterile gauze, and a sterile needle at a pharmacy.
② Apply rubbing alcohol to the blister.
③ Gently prick the blister with the needle to make a small hole.
④ Cover it with sterile gauze to drain the blister fluid.
⑤ Finally, apply the prescribed ointment.
11. Tattoo removal sessions can be done at 8-week intervals (time for the pigment to clear and the skin to regenerate).
